Brilliant!
really?
No. Don’t blame humans inability to comprehend and interpret things correctly the Bible’s fault. The Bible does not prohibit same sex relations and I will argue about this seriously.
God, Christians aren’t the bad guys here, there are some extremists who interpret bits and pieces just like extremists at 9/11 did.

Well, yeah, the bible doesn’t prohibit homosexual relations. We never said the bible did. I don’t think that there is anything the bible prohibits (including rape, stealing and murder). The word that you are looking for is not “prohibit”, it’s “condemns”.
And the bible DOES condemn homosexuality. Look, there is just no way of “interpreting” that the bible doesn’t condemn homosexual relations. If some christians would like to skip that part because they don’t agree with it, that’s ok, I mean, I’m glad that they feel that way, but that’s just make-believe. The hatred and condemnation of homosexuality is quite explicit in the bible.
The Bible condemns homosexuality as a sin. Let’s look at what it says:
- Lev. 18:22, “You shall not lie with a male as one lies with a female; it is an abomination.”
- Lev. 20:13, “If there is a man who lies with a male as those who lie with a woman, both of them have committed a detestable act; they shall surely be put to death. Their bloodguiltness is upon them”
- 1 Cor. 6:9-10, “Or do you not know that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, shall inherit the kingdom of God.”
- Rom. 1:26-28, “For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural, and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error. And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer, God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do those things which are not proper.”
Homosexuality is clearly condemned by the Bible. God condemns homosexuals and will judge them unfit for the kingdom of heaven if they continue to practice homosexual sex. It goes against the created order; he created a man and then made a woman. This is what god has ordained and it’s what is right.
For the record, the old testament is not something you should be citing if you want to gain anyone’s respect in the homosexual debate considering all of the other rules and foundations laid down in it that are not followed today for many, many reasons.
And the only New Testament verse you have provided is not good evidence seeing as how it is often misquoted and has always been mistranslated.
Do some research next time.
Ok, first off, yes, you are right in saying that the new testament doesn’t have many references to homosexuality, and yes, there is some ground for arguing, when citing Cor. 6:9-10.
Now, on to the good part.
So let me see if I get this right: what you are saying is that just plain IGNORING the first half of the bible, the holy book, is OK? Look, I get that people don’t want to follow it, and believe me I’m glad, because that first half of the book is just atrocious. But just… I mean, please just read what you are saying there. According to you, just IGNORING the first part of the bible is OK because you/society don’t like it. You just can’t be selective: I mean, if you ignore the bad parts of it, why shouldn’t you also ignore… I don’t know, say genesis? Or any other part. Look, if you say that living by the bible is OK because of its moral code, but then just ignore some parts of its (a)moral code, then you are not actually living by the bible, but rather living by some ideas that you, a big part of society and maybe me too live by, some of which just happen to be in the bible.
If you believe that the teachings of your god, and his father/himself are in the bible, then you can’t ignore half of it.
Dad: Why do you think they do that?
Girl: Because the companies who make these try to trick the girls into buying the pink stuff instead of stuff boys want to buy. [x]I love her.
